Ok. So you know how the month of October is the worst for high school kids? It’s when teachers begin piling up work, and you’re further away from a break in the school year than any other time? Well, try adding college apps on top of that. Needless to say, I’m a little bit stressed. BUT that doesn’t stop me from reveling in the small things. I love writing (could you tell?) so essays for these schools are honestly fun. I’m SO EXCITED about EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL I’m applying to. I’m in love with each school, and will be happy at any one of them, so I’m not stressed. Thanks to the wonderful people in my life, I finished a bunch of apps earlier in the year, so it could be a lot worse. In case you didn’t know, something super fun is happening in the world currently, so for my entire generation, there’s a looming, deep fear because we know the world is worse off for us. Generational trauma is real, and I worry about the world we’re inheriting. I get to watch my friends try as hard as they can not to enter into crippling debt, and I myself get to stress over which schools will and will not give me money. I’m now realizing it’s been a long while since I’ve posted on this site. I’ll give you one guess as to why. The world over the last 19 months has been…an interesting one. I’ve gotten to watch my community’s response, as well as of the entire world (and particularly my own country), to a crisis of epic proportions. Of course, this was always a possibility. A global pandemic has been predicted by scientists to be coming for a while now, but the number of deaths and lives destroyed is truly unprecedented. As I write this, my constitutional law class is watching a documentary about Clarence Thomas. I have mixed feelings about him. Actually, they’re not mixed. But that’s neither here nor there. This post is all over the place, but I just wanted to say that I’ve missed you. That’s all. And I hope whoever you are, wherever you are, you’re safe, happy, and enjoying a steaming cup of chamomile tea.
