spunky and spiteful. vengeance personified. a feral cross between a wild orchid and a squirrel. or something.

being a writer

I recently had a family member talk to me about what it means to be a writer, and they said this:

"Writers are really cool. They're like psychologists. Or magicians. They write from the perspective of anyone. They think how they think"

I thought that was really cool. The fact that authors write from or about the point of view of a character, that, often times, they create. They must have a perfect knowledge of the character, inside and out. They must see the world through their eyes. Write from and inhabit the inside of their brain.

I'm not a writer in any way shape or form. I also tend not to finish things I start. Books, stories...oh, the stories. I have many unfinished stories. I'm one of those people who has "ideas" and then never finishes them. I don't know. Maybe I'll put some of the ideas out into the world, maybe here...

The one thing I have always loved is creating characters. Even though I'll say I'm not the best, I do love a story with the most interesting characters. I've met people who've come up with the most amazing and interesting characters. The quirks, the little things. That's what's important, or at least what I feel is important. You know, what they were wearing in that exact moment, what color socks they were wearing, what kind of moped they drive (if they're cool enough for that).

This post has been brief, but I'm keeping up, aren't I?
