Things that made you cool as a kid

OK! segment #1: Things that made you cool as a kid!

So, I was talking to a friend of mine the other day, and we got on the topic of elementary school, and the fact that none of us were popular back then. But I mean, what made you popular as a kid anyways?

Today, ladies and gentlemen we will be talking about the lunch phenomenon known unofficially as "whoever has the best lunch is the best."

Do you remember that one kid who always came to school with Oreos? Or a bag of Takis? Or, even better, whose parents brought them fast food? Meanwhile, you were stuck with those nasty school lunches, or you were like me, and your health nut mom packed you an eco-friendly lunch filled with baby carrots and strawberries. And you would always beg those kids for an Oreo, or a chicken nugget? Those kids were the coolest weren't they? That is, until middle school. You wouldn't want to be caught dead having your parents bring you stuff at school. It was cool if you had a bag of chipotle, but only if your parents never left the car. And to that end, dates were awkward cause neither of you could drive, so you were awkwardly sitting in that back, what with your parents up front, interrogating your date about their intentions.

In elementary school, no one was bullied or anything because of their lunch (I hope), but the one time your mom decided to be nice and packed you a bag of chips, everyone wanted to be your friend, and you got a little taste of popularity. Although the day the baby carrots returned, the fickle gaze of the second graders turned to the kid with the Chips Ahoy!, and you were begging agin for a better lunch.
